Apartment Paradiso

I stayed at Apartman Paradiso in August 2025 and found the room conditions very disappointing. There was visible mould on many surfaces, and a strong damp, mouldy smell that lingered even with ventilation. It made breathing difficult and left me concerned about the air quality. The room also seemed to have been used for another purpose in the past, which made me uncomfortable. The location was convenient, but the unhealthy atmosphere made the stay unpleasant. Even on a tight budget, I'd look for somewhere else until this property has been thoroughly cleaned and renovated.

The owner was polite and helpful, and the location was good. The room was extremely small, with a bed so high you nearly needed a ladder, though the bed itself was nice and soft. The stairs were very narrow, so this isn't suitable for older people. There was an intense mould smell throughout the place, and it wasn't good to sleep there. I was worried I might not wake up if I fell asleep. I didn't shower because black mould was everywhere. The whole place needs a proper clean.

We even paid extra for the larger room, but it smelled worse and was more disgusting. I wasn't seeking any reimbursement for the stay. The place was filthy, reeked of mould, and felt like a disgusting former brothel. Sure, it's cheap for Old Town Split, but do yourself a favour and stay elsewhere. It shouldn't be allowed on booking.com, and I wouldn't be surprised if the owner abused us too, like they have other people who left bad comments.

The good breakfast is the reason I'd give it two stars instead of one. The place is much smaller than the photos suggest, and it cost too much compared with other places. I chose it expecting a workout area and spa, but those were only included for one or two rooms. I also thought there'd be more tourists at the hotel, but I was there alone for the whole week. The owner's rudeness is an absolute no-go. Strongly not recommended.
