The booking site listing never said our room was in a basement. It was humid and smelled strongly of mould, and there was no comfort in trying to rest there. A small barred window sat right beside the feet of people walking on the pavement. It was misleading and ruined our stay in Split. Stay somewhere else if you can. I was there with my girlfriend. After the owner called this a fake review, I attached the booking confirmation with my partner’s personal information redacted.

The apartments are downstairs in a basement, and it was hard to breathe. There was no fresh air, a strange smell in the hallway, and lots of mosquitoes. The towels felt like sandpaper and must have been 20 years old.

The host was lovely, and the apartment had everything we needed: a washing machine, kettle, ironing board, clothes airer, hairdryer, and more. We were really impressed for the price. It’s under a ten minute walk to the center.
