Hotel Kastel 1700

The room is small, but clean and free of odors. You might hear noise from inside the old building, though the outside is completely soundproof. The location is excellent, and breakfast was delicious. Staff were friendly and helpful.

The accommodation is outstanding, the staff are great, and the location is excellent. The young team is professional and truly kind, and they leave a real impression. People who say they were better at that age are lying.

Our room was available, so they let us check in early. The first time, the entrance was a bit hard to find, but after that it was easy. The location is great, just 1/2 block from the Promenade, with restaurants and gelato shops all around. WiFi worked fine on our phones, but not on our older laptop.

After our first hotel didn't work out, we stayed here twice over a 2 week stretch, and the staff were warm and welcoming both times. They helped us out of a jam early in the vacation. The hotel is right inside Diocletian Palace, and we stayed in both the main hotel and the annex. The rooms were different, one a small apartment and the other a 4-person apartment, but both were clean, comfortable, and had views of the squares. The main hotel can be a little hard to spot, but the directions on their website made it easy to find. The staff are friendly. They can also arrange a shuttle driver to the airport for a fee if you're flying early, before the airport shuttle starts running. Since it's inside the Palace walls, there's no elevator, and you'll need to walk at least a few flights of stairs to reach the front desk. This will be our go-to hotel in Split from now on!
