Central Pearl By Nono Ban

As a solo traveller, I felt safe here and would happily recommend it. The staff were friendly and helpful, and gave advice on getting around and local attractions. My balcony was at the back of the building, so the view was limited. The cosy, modern room was clean, had toiletries and all the amenities I needed, plus a safe and tiny fridge. Rooms are on the second floor and cleaned daily, while the other floors are residential. The central spot made it easy to walk to attractions, the port, ferry, and bus terminal.

The shower was particularly good, and the room was clean and well equipped. The bed was comfortable too. But the tea and coffee setup we’d been promised was just a kettle and two mint teabags. No coffee, milk, black tea, or sugar, and with the local supermarkets shut, I couldn’t get caffeine before my early flight. Not ideal. The hotel occupies one converted flat in a residential building and has five rooms. Getting there means hauling your suitcase up two flights of stairs.

The room was a decent size, the location was very good, and checking in and out was hassle-free. I wasn’t comfortable with how simple the door lock was. In a place other than Split, I wouldn’t have felt safe at all.

Yerka was lovely to deal with and very accommodating about our late checkout and keeping our bags. The location was outstanding, just minutes from both the beach and old town. I’m picky about showers, and this one was as good as any I’ve had, with strong pressure and plenty of space. The bed was comfortable, and the double glazing kept outside noise out.
