East Coast Deluxe Rooms

The quiet nights and easy walk to the Old Town and Riva promenade were a big plus. East Coast Luxury Rooms is in a great spot, and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom felt luxurious and the Wi-Fi was fast. Staff were welcoming and attentive from the moment I arrived, and my room was spotless, beautifully designed, and had everything I needed. I highly recommend staying here in Split, and I’ll be back.

The room itself was very nice, and the host was lovely too. Getting there late at night was another matter. It’s an easy walk to the ferry, but the place is on a very narrow street with nowhere to leave a rental car. We ended up parking 1km away and still got a ticket, even though we’d paid to park in a lot. At the address, the door was open but the stairwell lights were off, so we used flashlights to get upstairs. The stairwell smelled of urine, maybe from a cat. I’d suggest arriving in daylight, since it felt pretty sketchy at night.

The photos gave a larger impression of the property than its actual size, which added to our disappointment. We also had to leave early after the host responded in a rude, insulting, and impulsive way to our early arrival, even though her staff had confirmed beforehand that it would be fine. The exchange became so unacceptable that we felt we had to leave. One other concern: the renovation of this historic building seems aimed at short-term rentals, adding to the kind of gentrification associated with Airbnb and worsening the shortage of housing local people need. We can’t recommend staying here.
