Heritage hotel Santa Lucia

The service was excellent, especially from Marko, who was at the front desk when we arrived. The rooms were spacious, clean, and recently renovated, and this is probably the best hotel inside the old town. The only drawback is that the nearest parking area is about a five minute walk away if you have a vehicle.

The breakfast was a highlight. There’s a buffet, plus a small menu, and the eggs Benedict were the best my son and I have ever had at a restaurant. They’re listed with salmon, but my son, who loves salmon, preferred my order with bacon instead. Our room worked really well for us. I slept on the downstairs sofa bed, which was comfortable, while my son and spouse used the upstairs bedroom. The bathroom was a good size for an older hotel. I liked staying somewhere historic, right in the heart of the old town. Restaurants, bars, pastry shops, gelato, ice cream, a pharmacy and grocery stores are all close by, with sights within walking distance too. There’s also a nearby park with steps and an uphill walk to a garden and zoo. There’s plenty to do, so plan for a longer stay. The hotel also has a restaurant, with indoor and outdoor spots to get coffee and relax in the lounge area. Service there was prompt. I’d happily come back and recommend staying here.

Marko from reception was waiting by our parking spot when we reached Split, then walked with us and our bags through the city to the hotel. He’d also answered all my emails promptly before we arrived. The hotel was helpful and kind from the start. We drove in from Dubrovnik and, since cars can’t enter the city, had arranged a parking space with them. The next day I realized I’d left my power converter at our previous hotel. Drogo didn’t just point me to a shop, he walked me there himself. Our room was very clean and spacious for the city centre, and surprisingly quiet despite facing the square. Highly recommend.

Drago at reception went out of his way to help us. We were already heading to the airport when he called to say we’d left our notebook charger behind. Since cars can’t reach the old town, he waited at Riva on a very windy bura day to hand it to us. We really appreciated that kind of service. Thanks to Drago and the whole team at Santa Lucia! Everyone was polite and helpful during our stay. Breakfast was very good with a nice range of choices, and our spacious room looked out over the lively square, a lovely view to wake up to. The bed and pillows were so comfortable too. Highly recommended.
