Hurricane Hostel

The location is good, but the hostel is cramped and rough around the edges, with blunt posters telling guests to "clean up your shit." I’d only suggest staying briefly. The staff helped when I needed advice, and when I got locked out, I was let back in after about 45 minutes, which I appreciated. But they ruined two pieces of my clothing when they did my laundry. My bright sunshine yellow dress came back green with black splotches, and my white shirt was very grey with black marks. I asked for the €14 back so I could try to get the clothes fixed at a dry cleaner or somewhere, but they refused. One staff member said he’d been washing clothes a long time and asked whether my other clothes were fine. They didn’t admit fault or apologize. My white shirt is still ruined. After days of soaking and washing, which cost me much more than €14, the yellow dress is almost back to normal. I wouldn’t stay here again. If you do, keep it short.

The staff were warm and friendly, and the rooms, kitchen, and bathrooms were clean and convenient. It’s a lovely hostel less than five minutes from Split’s historic center and bars. It’s also a nice place to meet people.

The location is perfect, and the people there are great and very helpful. The shared rooms were tidy. An unbelievable experience.

The beds were ridiculously comfortable, and the whole place felt cosy and welcoming. Aaron greeted me so warmly and stayed lovely throughout my visit. It’s a fantastic hostel right beside the old town, and I really hope I can come back one summer.
