The manager was lovely and helped arrange airport pickups, as well as suggesting places for dinner. Our room felt fresh and was spotless, while still keeping the building’s old character, which mattered to me because I’m pretty fussy about cleanliness. We had a great stay in a fantastic location and would absolutely recommend it.

There are only four rooms, and the spot is central enough that we could walk everywhere. The staff were attentive, helpful, and the place was clean and stocked with what we needed. It felt like a home away from home, with great attention to detail, and I’d come back in a heartbeat. If you’re renting a car, arrange parking with the hotel ahead of time.

We left feeling uneasy about our safety because the manager threatened to call the police during a dispute over parking charges. The rate was given as “15EUR,” but nobody made clear that it was per day. The parking spot was on a street where parking was free. We had parked for 36 hours, and when I offered to pay 15 rather than 30 euros, the manager and owner threatened to call the police. He described his role as manager, so this isn’t a family business. The escalation felt extreme given how unclear the information had been. If we’d known about the situation in advance, we’d have used a garage that felt more suitable for our vehicle, or paid the amount we’d agreed to. The manager also brought up our nationality, saying, “you don’t get free parking in America.” He must have got that from our passports at check-in, since we hadn’t talked about it. We actually live in New York City, where street parking is free, and we’ve lived in and travelled to more than 100 countries. The communication was unclear, and we felt scammed. We won’t return or recommend it. Handling misunderstandings and conflicts is part of a manager’s job. Threatening well-meaning foreign guests with police is an abuse no guest should have to face. The room itself was clean, comfortable, and well stocked.

We were right by the main square, with some great restaurants nearby, and the room was lovely. The bed was really comfortable, too. Ivana was easy to reach, offered us a parking spot, and gave us excellent local tips. We’d definitely come back.
