The breakfast was a real highlight, with little pastries made fresh each morning by a chef who’s also a talented baker. The staff were attentive from the start, meeting us at the parking area and helping carry our bags from the rental car. Our room was spacious, and the bathroom had a really nice shower. Staying in a hotel whose room walls are part of Diocletian’s palace was such a cool experience. We felt like royalty!

Ana, Jan, and Ante made us feel welcome and gave us detailed tips on what to see, where to eat, and how to plan our onward visits after Split. Since cars aren’t allowed inside the roughly 1,700-year-old fort, the parking spot was some distance away, but they helped us with our luggage. It’s a charming hotel inside the fort, and the room, facilities, and breakfast were all 5 star. 😲

We had no complaints at all and highly recommend the Heritage Hotel Antique Split. For the price, we felt it was well worth it. Our room was clean and comfortable, and having stone masonry from inside Diocletian's Palace as part of the walls was remarkable. Breakfast had both a buffet and menu, with plenty of delicious food. Throughout our week there, Ana, Ante, Jan, and Ivan were friendly, professional, and consistently helpful. They assisted with nearby parking, bags, local transport, restaurant ideas, and even lent us beach towels for an impromptu trip to the beach. The hotel sits in the old town, and its breakfasts and service were superb. If you're heading to the beaches, the public Dalmatian shore is pebbly rather than sandy. Water shoes with thick rubber soles may make walking more comfortable, and the pebbles of cement by the water aren't a soft place to lie down.

The made-to-order breakfast and the staff's service made this a special stay. Jan was the person we saw most, though everyone was friendly and helpful. He greeted us whenever we came through the lobby, answered questions, and offered suggestions. By the time we left, he felt like a friend. He even walked us to the ferry, then saved the day when my wife left her jacket behind by sending it on the next ferry to Hvar, so we got it back later that same day. Set in the middle of Diocletian’s Palace, the hotel was quiet and tucked away. During the busy tourist season, it was lovely to retreat to a cool, peaceful room. Ours was large, with a big bathroom and full-size shower. I highly recommend it.

Ante made our stay memorable from the moment he welcomed us, carried our bags from the car park, and showed us the attractions on a map. The breakfast was delicious, with plenty of local dishes to choose from. We’ll definitely return on our next trip. This is a history hotel inside the palace, and it’s the best hotel we’ve stayed at by far. The rooms are lovely, clean, and quiet, and the service from Ante was impeccable. Best of the best, kudos to him.
