Sun Spalato Villa Paradise

Stay away from this villa. This was the worst vacation we've had. We booked Villa Sun Spalato Paradise Split for 8 people, for a family celebration, and paid nearly 5,500€. When a very harsh thunderstorm hit, we asked if we could leave our luggage somewhere safe. They said no because the apartment was being cleaned for us, and our check-in time was 16 hrs. But when we arrived, it hadn't been cleaned, or had been done very poorly. There were old used towels, dirt and filth throughout, filthy floors and furniture, and peeling tabletops. The huge sofa was covered with sheets. Outside there were cigarette studs and beer bottle caps, even in the pockets of the inside pool tables. The toilets were covered in black filth. The coffee machines didn't work and had a sign asking for them to be cleaned. The shared toilet for two apartments wouldn't flush properly. The patio door wouldn't lock, the showers hadn't been cleaned, and the bedroom doors wouldn't close. We complained directly to the owner and sent about 30 pictures. We were told to wait until the next day for the manager. When the manager/owner arrived with two cleaning ladies, we were basically told the previous occupants had made a mess and we were supposed to accept it. The cleaners told us the apartment hadn't been cleaned and shouldn't have been let out. We waited while the owner inspected the place and the ladies cleaned. It took more than half the day, so we'd lost nearly two of our seven days just to make the apartment livable. The problems we'd pointed out still weren't fixed, and the manager later rejected our complaint. The place wasn't worth the money or the advertised four stars. We received no compensation.
