Most of the staff were genuinely friendly and helpful. Two men even carried our luggage over to the ferry. Our time at the annex reception was a different story. The receptionist was polite but wouldn’t make a simple espresso, even with three machines on the counter right behind him. That would have been funny if we hadn’t just paid over €400 for one night. The annex is about 200 meters from the main hotel and has four rooms that don’t feel worth this price. There isn’t a proper lounge area, just a space that doubles as storage, and there’s no coffee or refreshments. The room has the makings of a coffee and light breakfast area, with machines, counters, seats, and the infrastructure, but it’s unstaffed and has no self-service basics: no coffee, water station, or refrigerator. It’s mostly empty, apart from a makeshift reception and stored supplies, crates, and bags. We got two coffee pods in our room. When we asked for more, we were told to walk back to the main hotel. On departure morning, I asked for a cup from one of the three espresso machines while we waited with our luggage. The receptionist said our room had already been cleaned and no more coffee was available there. So we could either go without or wheel our bags 200 meters back to the main hotel for a cup. The annex feels like an afterthought, priced as luxury accommodation but run like an unattended overflow building. If we’d known we’d be placed there instead of in the main hotel, we’d have chosen somewhere else. We will next time.
