Villa Spaladium

This was the worst two-night stay in our 30 travel experiences. It felt like torture. The listing was misleading, with the apartment located far from the official address, and the service was unqualified and showed no respect for customers. I’d appreciate it if the local authority reviewed this B&B’s license promptly to help protect Split’s tourism reputation. There was no advance email with basic registration or key-code instructions. Instead, we were accused of checking in late and charged an extra 20 euro. The boiler didn’t provide enough hot water for even one person, and we had to wait at least another 30 minutes for someone else to shower. The room isn’t suitable for a family. The owner came in right at the 10 a.m. checkout time, and there was an unreasonable 30 euro housekeeping fee, even though nothing was done after the first night.

Antonia and her family thought of all the little essentials, and then went above and beyond. The hosts were helpful with my questions, and before we arrived Antonia even offered to arrange day trips if we wanted. The apartment was a fantastic base for exploring the city. The place on Omiška was spotless and had superb facilities. They’d stocked things you normally have to buy yourself, like sugar, oil, and salt, and there were juices, milk, local wine, and chocolate biscuits in the fridge. The bathroom already had hairspray, shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, and other toiletries. A bakery and minimarket are right beside us, with a larger supermarket nearby too. The location was fantastic, just minutes from the beach and city attractions.

The flat felt cramped for three people and was dark. The kitchen was small and not very usable for cooking, and there wasn’t a proper place to eat. The apartment was already expensive, then the host, whom we never saw, asked us to pay a tax we’d never been asked for before in Croatia.

The hostess was amazing and kind, and I’d definitely stay again. It’s an awesome spot, with a little kitchenette and a tiny balcony that’s perfect for wine and snacks. The upper-floor apartment is adorable and close to food and the port. Finding it and parking were a bit hard, and getting bags up the steep stairs was a challenge, but it was totally worth it. Just so you know, the foldout couch is only three-quarter size, not really made for an adult, though it worked for two days. Loved it. Thanks!
