Villa Varos

We had a great stay in this cozy place. Check-in was easy and the hosts were very accommodating. It's in a lovely quiet area, steps from the water and close to restaurants and other amenities, so getting around Split on foot was easy. We'll definitely return!

Gregory was a splendid host. He helped with my luggage when I arrived and left, and made sure my taxi back to the airport was very economical. I hadn't contacted him before arriving, so the taxi to "Villa Varos" could have cost more than necessary. Next time I'll arrange that ahead of time. I stayed in early September 2025, and the room at "Villa Varos" was spotlessly clean and well equipped, though on the small side. It's in the historic center, minutes from Emperor Diocletian's summer Palace, with plenty of cafes, restaurants and bars nearby. There's also a laundromat that can do same-day washing, plus grocery shops for nights when you don't want to eat out. Split itself was a fantastic experience, thanks to its natural beauty and the historical significance of its ruins. As I told Gregory, I'll certainly come back for a longer stay and book a bigger room.

The room was compact and very clean, and communication was good. I got help when I needed it. This is a small, friendly hotel in a handy spot near the city center, with everything walkable. The main drawback was hearing noise through the walls from neighboring rooms now and then, including floor creaks, talking and music. Still, the nights were mostly peaceful. I'd recommend it if you want a basic place to stay rather than special luxury services.

The rooms are on the small side, but they're laid out so well that it more than makes up for the size. Villa Varos sits at the edge of the tourist area, which is the best part of staying here. You're close to it without being right in the middle.
