We had to deal with several serious problems during our stay, and I wouldn't recommend this place, even if the price looks tempting. The owner took full payment on the first day, then seemed to feel no responsibility for helping us. When anything went wrong, he blamed some third party instead of taking responsibility. At one point we partly restored the electricity ourselves after he glanced at the fuse box, said it looked fine, and left to meet friends and drink. His partner came by saying “I’m sorry” again and again, but that didn't fix anything. The owner also smelled strongly of alcohol and drove in that state, which left us worried about safety. The apartment was filthy when we arrived, as if it hadn't been used or cleaned in years. We swept and cleaned the kitchen and bathroom ourselves. There was visible mold in the bathroom, a dirty fridge, and bugs under the beds. When we pointed out the mess, the owner didn't even apologize. The water heater broke one day. They tried to fix it, but cut power to the whole floor. The heater stayed broken for two more days, and electricity came back only after three days and a lot of arguments and complaints. Getting help was difficult. The owner either doesn't speak English or, most of the time, was drunk and mumbling. He ignored messages even when we translated them into Croatian. He'd promise to arrive in 20 minutes, then disappear for the whole day. He also said his family had suffered a death and hadn't had time to prepare the apartment, which made us wonder why it was being rented at all. If we complained, he told us to pack and leave, claiming he had “30 guests waiting for these rooms.” He'd boast that the location was good enough to charge more and tell us to “be thankful and stay quiet.”
