Apartments Jerković

Mr. Bartul is very kind, nice, and talkative, but unfortunately the accommodation doesn’t justify the €90 per night. After we left, he messaged to ask if we knew where the hairdryer was, though there hadn’t been one in the apartment. Parking was a major problem. It was officially “secured,” but there was room for three cars, while a fourth barely fit. Their own car also occupied a space, leaving three free spots for guests. Every evening there was a struggle over parking, sometimes involving other guests rather than us. Our apartment was on the 3rd floor, up quite steep stairs. It was small, with no oven or microwave, only an induction hob. When I tried to cook on the first day, I couldn’t figure out how to switch it on, and the owners didn’t know either. I got it working after about 45 minutes. The kitchen was short on utensils: one knife and two pots, with no cooker. I was glad I’d brought a frying pan from home. The AC worked without problems, but the terrace was shared with the neighboring apartment even though we’d been told at booking that it would be ours. They played techno while we played cards, and the terrace light didn’t work. The washing machine was outside in the courtyard and shared with other guests. The toilet constantly smelled like a septic tank. The shower cabin was tiny, the bathroom lighting too weak to see properly in the mirror, and there were no shelves or storage. We handed over our ID cards on arrival and they weren’t returned. On the third day we asked for them back, and were told we could pay right away.

We were four other people and me, staying one night, and the “manager” who greeted us was rude and unhelpful. At checkout he insisted on cash and refused to give us a receipt, even though we asked. He then told Booking.com we were a no-show and falsely reported that we had cancelled. We complained to Booking.com, but after contacting the apartment manager, they told us he continued to deny that we had stayed there. A completely negative experience.

The listing promised a balcony, TV, and barbecue, but none of those were there. There was no internet in the room, the kitchenette lacked basic utensils, and its light was burnt out. The hallway bulbs had been removed, which made going down the stairs at night dangerous. Even though we paid when we arrived, the property manager kept our passports until the day we left. The facilities were awful.

The furniture was old and the place wasn't very clean. There was also a leak from the bathroom drain. 😲
