Krapina has lovely, friendly people, great pizza and awesome ice cream, and the owners here are nice too. We were a group of six and really liked our big room. The place was super clean and had everything we needed, making it an excellent alternative to expensive hotels.

The owner and the girl working there were both great people, and the bar felt cozy. They had two craft beers when I visited, so I hope there'll be a few more next time. The kitchen, room and toilets were all warm and super clean.

A clean, lovely place with helpful staff who speak English and a friendly feel. The bar has a nice atmosphere, with things like darts and pop quizzes to keep you entertained. Great for travelers, give it a try.

In the morning, Marlis went into the dormitory kitchen to cook and serve us breakfast herself, and kept us laughing. She looked after every need, going well beyond what you'd expect, and her quick wit and warm welcome made the stay special. She has a forceful, reassuring presence. It felt like being welcomed into her home, while still being treated as an honoured guest. This has become one of my favourite places from all my travels, and I'll make a point of coming back. If you're passing through Krapina, it would be foolish to miss staying here and leaving a note in her guestbook.

The family-style chicken dish was served barely warm. By the time I ate the last piece, it was contaminated, and I got food poisoning that took two days to recover from. The owner and cook denied the food was responsible, but I'm sure it was.
