Bluesun Hotel Jadran

We ended up adding a couple of days to our stay because we were enjoying it so much, and we’re already planning to come back next summer. The peaceful setting and spot by the sea made it easy to unwind, whether by the pool or swimming in the sea. Our room was comfortable, cozy, and clean. The restaurant was a highlight, too. Mihailo made dinner feel personal with his friendly, professional service, and Matej made a great omelet at breakfast and served outstanding seafood at dinner. The whole team was lovely. Even our mini pinscher was treated warmly, with a little toy and cooling mat as a gift. It would be nice if guests could learn more about the hotel’s fascinating history. We had a wonderful stay and would happily recommend Jadran.

The views and location are hard to beat, and the service is still great. But after coming back for the first time in 3-4 years, I noticed several changes that have made the experience worse. Parking now costs 9 EUR/day, and drinks with dinner are both expensive and charged separately. Why not offer pitchers of tap water? We stayed 7 days this time and had entertainment on only two evenings, whereas on my previous visit there was something every evening except weekends. Is entertainment no longer included in the price? The shower tray is still flimsy plastic, with no solid footing, and sometimes cracks. It leaves you worrying about water leaking into the room below. Ceramic trays would make much more sense. The hotel is also starting to feel dated. It comes across as a good four-star place, but not a five-star one anymore. My first visit 3-4 years ago was perfect. Stop pinching pennies and bring back what made the hotel great.

The beach, pool, and views are lovely, but the hotel itself felt more like a solid four-star place than a five-star one, especially in the rooms, service, and facilities. We had a very poor experience with our room, and the front desk wasn't helpful.

The bay views from the dining terrace were fantastic, although getting a table there could be tricky since so many guests wanted one. We were on half board, and both breakfast and dinner were excellent, with plenty of choice, including lighter foods and different meat dishes each evening. Omelets and other dishes could be cooked to your liking. There are two pools, one upstairs and an infinity pool downstairs, just a short distance from the pebble beach. Guests in ground-floor junior suites also have their own swim-up pool and loungers. We never had trouble finding a lounger elsewhere, whatever time of day. Beach loungers cost 10Euro each for the day. The hotel is a short walk along the seafront path to the village and harbour, with some shops, supermarkets, and restaurants on the way. There are probably enough places to eat nearby to choose B&B if you like trying different restaurants. Bring beach shoes if you want to go into the sea, in my opinion, since the shore is pebbly. The transfer from Split airport took about 1.5 hours with one stop to drop someone off. Check-in was very efficient and friendly, and we got a complimentary non-alcoholic drink on arrival. Staff were polite throughout, and all areas looked clean and tidy. It was a great stay, and I’d go back to this hotel and resort.
