Hotel Adria

We were there for seven days, and most of the organized activities seemed aimed at older guests. There was very little for children, which made the animation program a major disappointment for our family. The problems were with the team from Relax Turizem. Their equipment was already in bad shape, but they accused children of damaging it. That was inappropriate and unprofessional. The hotel and its own staff were generally fine, friendly and accommodating. The all-inclusive deal is really full board. You won't go hungry, though the food choices are limited and repetitive. The hotel is okay, but I wouldn't recommend it to families with young kids because of the weak children's program and the animation staff's behavior.

The hotel is old, though our room was clean, and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Service was very good. The food was great, with fresh local vegetables and fish each day, plus meat. Local alcoholic drinks were included in the all-inclusive package. I spent two weeks at the Adria. I liked the easy walk along the shore and into Vela Luka. My mornings were for swimming 2 km, and I went snorkeling in the afternoons. The sea life wasn't marvelous, as is common around the Mediterranean, so I also used some afternoons to pick up small objects I could reach and clean them out of the sea.

They wouldn't let us eat at the buffet even though there was plenty of food and I offered to pay. It was 13:54, just before the 2 o'clock cutoff, and other people were still eating. I asked if we could be served quickly, but they refused. My two kids were hungry, and when I asked for snacks, they said they had nothing, not even chips or nuts. I've never run into such a hostile, child-unfriendly attitude. What sort of place leaves children hungry with food right there? Bad people and a bad receptionist. Post-socialism at its worst!

The bay view is nice, and being 2 km from town makes the hotel feel calm. But the rooms are frightening, the staff aren't very nice, and the food is bad. You were lucky if you managed to get some fruit. Without all-inclusive, you could end up in a noisy room beside the elevator with a view of a wall.
