Guesthouse Ivac Inn Zagreb Airport

The location right by the airport makes getting around easy, and the complimentary shuttle was a big help. I slept well in a clean, comfortable room with good soundproofing and everything I needed. There's also a caffee bar and air conditioning. The staff were friendly and accommodating. This inn is a hidden gem for a night before travelling, highly recommend it.

Vjeko made us feel welcome and was helpful and accommodating. I managed to book a single room at the last minute, right beside my friend's double room. The room was clean, comfortable and, thanks to the excellent A/C, nice and cool. We also had a lovely complimentary cappuccino on the grape vine covered patio. Our airport ride was arranged smoothly, and I'd gladly stay again.

The room was a bit tight, but it had what I needed and the building has character. There's an outdoor terrace under a roof of red wine grapes, which they male their own wine with. I was invited for coffee in the morning, and someone even knocked to check I wouldn't miss my bus. The room itself was clean, with shower soap, shampoo, towels and a face cloth laid out, plus A/C, a TV, wardrobe and bedside light. I called as instructed after getting my bags. The person who answered spoke perfect English and gave clear directions. They picked me up in about 12 minutes and drove me to the front door. English-speaking staff were there to meet me, even though it was after midnight and my flight had been delayed by an hour and a half. They carried my bags to the room and showed me the way. My expectations were exceeded. Hvali!

It was close to the airport, but that's the only good thing I can say. The rooms were a few old, dilapidated spaces behind a bar, and the A/C didn't work. It didn't look like a new problem, either. There was nobody on site, and the supposed shuttle seemed like a fantasy. We left as soon as we arrived because the place wasn't up to a suitable standard. The room was very substandard, and we still haven't had a reply about a refund. When we first contacted them, all we heard was, "you won't get your money back." That wasn't the happy, friendly team described in other reviews. I guess this happens often. Do yourself a favour and avoid it. Sadly, my photo of the A/C unit didn't come out. It looked cutting edge in the 70's.
