Villa Panorama

Makar is a settlement just below the Biokovo mountain range, with a prominent cemetery, and it’s where the uphill trail through the rugged terrain starts. From the center of Makarska, the walk takes about 45 minutes if you’re in good shape and don’t rush. I’d go early or catch sunset in the evening. There’s a lovely view over Makarska and, when visibility allows, Brač too. Watching sunrise gradually light up the town and nearby area is worth getting up for. One timing tip: because Biokovo keeps the place in shade, add roughly an hour and a half to the listed sunrise time.
