The staff made the stay feel special. They were warm and helpful, took care of parking, shared good local suggestions, and made sure we felt at home. Breakfast in the little courtyard was great, too. Almayer Art & Heritage Hotel is in a quiet, cozy spot, just a few minutes from the center of Zadar Old Town. We’d definitely book again. Thanks!

The courtyard was pleasant, and we would have liked to stay longer, but the coffee left such an acidic, bitter aftertaste that our stomachs felt uncomfortable. We ended up cutting the visit short and finding breakfast somewhere else. The granola was burnt and unpleasantly hard, and after the coffee we didn’t feel like risking any of the other dishes.

Dinner in the courtyard was good, though seeds from the plants kept falling, which made it a bit awkward. Earlier that afternoon, we’d been told the restaurant was fully booked for the evening, but when we walked by later, there were several empty tables and they seated us. Maybe people had cancelled or not shown up. Still, I hope they aren’t turning away potential customers because they assume they won’t spend enough.

Breakfast in the little garden was great, with a good selection to choose from instead of a buffet. I especially liked the granola with fresh fruit. Our room in the annexe was clean and very nice, with a small balcony and a comfortable bed. We stayed at Almayer at the start of our Croatia trip. The old town, the sea, and the passenger harbour ⛵️🛟 were all about a minute away on foot. We’d book Almayer again anytime. The hotel arranges car parking for EUR 15 per night.
