The free parking and gardens at the front and back were a nice bonus, and there’s a restaurant across the road for breakfast. We arrived at 3.30 am, but the women who greeted us were very kind and check-in was quick and easy, even though they didn’t speak much English. The room was in perfect order, with kitchenware, a kettle, fridge and hairdryer. We weren’t planning to cook. The blinds helped us get a few hours of sleep, though the road is noisy, so air conditioning may be better than leaving the windows open. The shower flooded as soon as we turned on the water. Payment had to be in cash; luckily, for us that was only the city tax, since our booking service had handled the stay price online.

The owner’s mum showed us around while he was away. We couldn’t speak the same language, but she was so, so lovely and even brought us a welcome drink. Lots of love to her :-* We stayed here with my boyfriend two weeks ago.

Getting to Zadar’s old town takes some planning, since you’ll need to drive or take public transport. The place itself was spotless and had everything, including a fridge, air conditioning and TV. The furnishings could use an update, but they’re still comfortable. The owner is very kind and manages to make herself understood despite not speaking English.

The owner was lovely and greeted us with juice, which we really appreciated. The place was spacious and very well looked after. It’s easy to find and close to supermarkets, and driving into the city center is straightforward. For sunset, though, get there much earlier or leave the car outside the center.
