Apartment Skarica

The bedroom faces a busy main road, so an open window can let in some noise at night. Still, it’s a comfortable apartment for two, and the slightly unusual layout worked well for us. You can walk to the old town, airport shuttle, boulevard, beaches, boat trips, and ferries. Finding the entrance takes a little effort: number 29 is in a passage beneath an arch, between 29a and 29b. Google Maps got us close but not right to the door. The front entrance uses a handy code lock. There’s a spacious bedroom with two separate beds, nightstands, a sleeping chair, a desk, and a wardrobe stocked with extra bedding, pillows, and towels. The living kitchen has a fridge with freezer, induction hob, microwave, electric milk kettle, and sandwich maker, plus a double sofa bed, dining table with two chairs, reading lamp, and TV. The bathroom has a shower, toilet, sink, and top-loading washing machine. Hot water comes from a boiler, and there were plenty of towels and a hairdryer.

The owner was very friendly and gave us lots of useful tips on places to eat and things to see. The apartment itself was spotless and had all the amenities we needed. It’s outside the historic center, but still close enough to walk there. The one thing we couldn’t work out was where the fried-food smell that lingered in our living room from the afternoon was coming from.

Small but comfortable, with everything we needed, and close to the city center. The host was lovely and helpful, and the location was good. Tea, coffee, and a map were provided. I’d recommend it.
