Apartments Nada

We’ve stayed in this apartment every two years since 2012, apart from the pandemic, and have always felt at home with our hostess. Our first visits were as a family with young kids; now we come as a couple. The construction around Zadar-Diklo over the past two years has been a nuisance. It seems to reflect how building work is often done in Croatia and southern Europe, but that’s not something the hosts can control. We hope it’ll be finished soon.

The apartment itself is okay, but right now it’s not really usable. All of Diklo seems to be one big construction site, and today, Sunday, there’s been loud hammering at the neighboring house since 7 a.m. Our hosts have apparently gone away for the weekend to get away from the noise. If we hadn’t already booked another stay in Zagreb, we’d leave straight away.

The beach is very close, and the large terrace has a lovely sea view. The apartment has three rooms and a kitchen: two bedrooms with large double beds, plus a third room with a big corner sofa bed. There’s a dishwasher, washing machine, and all the kitchenware you need. It’s peaceful here, though quite a distance from the city center, which is crowded. My only complaint is that there are no sunbeds or umbrellas to take to the beach. I’d highly recommend the place for a quiet stay.

The sea is nearby, and the hosts were lovely and welcoming. The apartment was clean, with a microwave and hairdryer, but a few basic household things were missing, like rags, napkins, and cleaning supplies. For four people, we were given only two large and two small towels. They weren’t especially fresh, though at least they were clean. All in all, it wasn’t bad.
