The room was untidy and dirty, and the towels and sheets were dirty too. We couldn't get a bill, and the welcome was very unpleasant.

There were hairs in the toilet, which was still very dirty, and we found several in the bed too. When I told the hostess, all she said was, “thank you for letting me know.” We were left with a dirty room, and she showed no basic respect, didn't apologise, and offered no concession. She was very impolite. I wouldn’t describe these as “luxury rooms” when the toilets and sheets aren’t even clean. I’ve stayed in hostels cleaner than this. Embarrassing.

Avoid this place, it was the worst experience. The agent who greeted us was drunk, and the apartment we got was completely different from the booking photos. It was an old flat with a kitchen, dirty curtains, a broken shower with doors that wouldn't stay attached, no working Wi-Fi or TV, and no lights in the corridors or stairways. They charged a luxury room price. When we asked Mrs D to move us to the right accommodation, he said he couldn't help because he didn't know what we'd booked, even after we showed him our photos. They asked for cash, saying the card machine wasn't working. The next day they told booking.com that we hadn't shown up for check-in. It felt like a scam and a way to take our money.

We felt cheated. The room we were given wasn’t the one in the photos, which show a place beside the cathedral. It was described as luxury, but looked more like a 1970s council flat, and we were charged 25% above the booking price we’d been quoted. The only reason for one star is the newly fitted kitchen. This was the 11th different room on an otherwise fabulous holiday in Croatia. Luckily we stayed just one night, since we were heading back to the UK the next day.
