Pool house LUKA

The hosts were great, and I would recommend the property. We stayed in Apartment 2, which we understand is the newest. It was spacious, with a nice little kitchen and bathroom, and a comfortable super king bed. The pool was superb: clean, with plenty of seating, and set in the back garden away from the main road. We didn't see other properties with pools, and for Zadar in June-August, that feels like a must. Behind the pool are a few Soviet-style buildings that aren't especially well kept, but it wasn't a major issue. One of the air-con fans did rattle noisily. The location is great. It's on a main road, around a 15-minute walk to the old town and 7-8 minutes to the beach front. An Interspar supermarket is just across the road. Check-in went well, and we were allowed in a little early, which was handy for our early flight. The payment was a hassle, though. We were asked to pay nearly 600 euro in cash. Booking.com had said we'd be contacted in advance to arrange payment, so when that didn't happen, we assumed we could transfer the money on arrival. Just something to keep in mind. There were a few other things that could use attention: the sink drain smelled bad, some dishes were dirty, and a small bunch of ants were coming in by a socket near the door. Instructions, dishwasher tablets, and more than one towel, including one for the pool, would help bring the place up to five stars. I'd call it three-star accommodation as it stands, though a few small tweaks could make it much better.
