Villa Triana

For us, the balcony sea-view room made the stay. We only spent one night, but watching the sunset from the balcony was awesome. Without that balcony, I don’t think we’d have been very happy. The hotel feels like three stars: the rooms were fine overall, though dated and in need of some improvements. It’s about a 10-minute Uber ride to downtown, and there’s a rocky beach right outside the pool area.

The room furniture wasn’t modern, but it was clean and sufficient. I thought the criticism in earlier reviews that it was tired was a bit harsh. Our double room was spacious, with a couch, two chairs, and a balcony with seats. The pool is small but deep, so it may not suit young children or people who can’t swim well. I enjoyed my stay and would come back in warmer weather. I think the experience would have been better during peak season, when more restaurants are open. The cafe 70 yards up the road is ideal for a coffee or beer.

The pool area is nice, and the sunset outside the hotel is beautiful. The location was okay, with restaurants and a supermarket nearby, though it’s not in the centre. Get a top-floor room with a balcony if you stay here, otherwise the view isn’t good.

The service stood out most. We arrived two days before our original reservation, and the woman who checked us in greeted us warmly and gave us a detailed rundown of town, including recommended places to visit, restaurants, and local crafts. Thanks to Villa Triana, we felt rested and ready to explore Zadar. The villa is beautiful, the rooms are elegant and very comfortable, and the sea views are stunning. We also enjoyed waking to the sound of the sea and having a delicious breakfast.
