We paid a great price to stay right by Zagreb's cathedral, with the central square under a five-minute walk away. The rooms are a bit small, but they worked well for us. A great spot for couples wanting to be in the middle of the city.

The hostel is very close to the city centre, but for only a few euros more you could get a lot more. I wouldn't value this place above €10 a night, or €15 at the very most. There isn't a dedicated parking lot, so keep that in mind if you're driving. Sound is the main problem. You can hear everything outside, and the kitchen and dining area in the middle of the hostel has no doors. For three nights in a row, we had a Hell's Kitchen party from 5-7 a.m. On top of that, the nearby local cathedral rang its bells for 10 minutes through the night and early morning, even though it was closed for reconstruction works. There are other drawbacks too. The cheap TV in the room isn't connected to an antenna, cable, or satellite, and has nothing to watch. The toilet sits under the roof slope, so you can't stand while peeing. And the shared pipe system makes shower temperature hard to control: whenever someone turns hot water on or off, ours would swing between scalding and freezing.

The staff were all so friendly and helpful, and were flexible when we asked to stay two extra nights. Our room was cosy and very clean, and the location was good too. We definitely recommend this place :)

A simple, nice place to sleep, with reception open 24/7. It does what it says, so don't expect anything extra. I'd recommend it as a hostel! :)

The view from our room was wonderful, and I'll add my photo. The hotel was certainly clean, though the breakfast wasn't good enough.
