A lovely apartment. I loved it.

Unacceptable.

We found this on Njuškalo, where the ad showed an apartment for 150 kn a night. Instead, when we arrived, we were shown a room with a bathroom. We said that wasn’t what we’d agreed on and asked for the apartment in the listing. The man there said he needed to call the owner, who replied rudely and arrogantly that we could take it or leave it. The call was on speaker, so we heard her. When we tried to explain that this wasn’t right, the man told us to “get out” and kicked us out, literally. The whole thing was disgusting, unprofessional, and inhumane. People pay honestly for their accommodation, and this is how you treat them. Shame on you both. The trouble started even earlier. We were meant to check in at 12:00, but the woman was already making problems about that. We eventually worked out a compromise on the arrival time, though her disorganized, unprofessional behavior should have been a warning to us. At the address, we were met by an old man who seemed badly affected by drug use and had no teeth. We should have left then. I can’t believe people behave this way.

It’s a nice, small, functional apartment in a quiet neighborhood. Everything is close and accessible, with good connections to all parts of the city.
