Doma Zagreb Apart-Hotel

The location is superb, and the windows in our apartment faced inner courtyards, so it was fairly quiet. The bedroom bed was comfortable, the heating worked great, and the washer-dryer was really good. The kitchenette was well equipped, though the one we had was partly broken and dirty, fridge included, and lacked basic utensils. There was just one small teaspoon. For the nightly price, I expected at least a couple of coffee sachets or a bottle of water. The dish soap had been watered down and was only half full. The fridge also has a freezer. The apartment didn't look like the photos and felt dated. There was almost no storage apart from large shelves for suitcases, and the sofa was extremely uncomfortable when made into a bed. Spider webs were above the closet and the living/dining area's window, and curtains were coming loose from almost every window. The hallway clothing rack was broken at the bottom. The entryway sofa was dirty, covered with two old, mismatched blankets. There's a large mirror at the entrance that isn't attached to the wall, so be careful if you have kids. In the small bathroom, the shampoo bottle was broken and about 40% full, and I found pieces of broken plastic in the mirror cabinet. The water heater was broken too, with water constantly draining into a bucket by the sink. The lady who came to see on day two if we needed anything was lovely. Check-in and check-out were quick and easy. The parking space is inside the building, but the doors are pretty narrow, so watch out if you have a big car. Once inside, it's extremely safe to leave the car there. They could've left a couple of laundry detergent pods too, especially for someone staying 6+ nights.

The host was nice and polite, the beds were comfortable, and the heat came up quickly. The dressing room was handy for storing luggage, and the kitchenettes were well equipped. The location is convenient, just a few minutes' walk from the historic centre. But at 300 eur/night, I expected much more attention to detail. The apartment seemed like a downgrade from the booking photos, and photos of several different apartments are uploaded, which can be confusing when choosing. There was a bad smell in the fridge and a lot of spider webs. The curtains weren't fully fixed, the shower was broken but still usable, and the shower gel/shampoo bottle was broken. The heating unit leaked, so it felt a bit old-fashioned to have to empty a bucket of water. The bathtub was very, very small. Our apartment had no view of the street, only the inner courtyards, though that's the architecture. The price should account for that too. Decent service overall, and the place has a lot of potential, but needs much more care. It wasn't worth the money.

At Doma Zagreb ApartHotel, I had the comforts and amenities of home in the city centre, and the service was friendly. It was a great balance of convenience and comfort.

The hosts were quick to respond, and the apartment was clean. We had a good stay at Doma Zagreb, in a great location.
