Main Square Residence

You can walk to everything in the old town from here, the location really doesn’t get better. The rooms were spotless and comfortable, and the staff were helpful, around whenever needed, and spoke English. Reception is somewhere else, which was a little confusing, and the stairway up to the rooms is somewhat run-down. Stayed June 2019.

Our room was spacious, clean, and had a comfortable bed. It was also much quieter than I expected for the city centre. The receptionists were very friendly, and the nearby Café breakfast voucher worked out nicely. Finding the place was tricky because of the construction outside. The building is old, and the hallway was a bit messy. I didn’t notice the bad smell other people mentioned.

Ana was always smiling and very helpful, and the location is absolutely amazing. My second-floor Studio was clean and comfortable, so I’d happily recommend Main Square Residence. I’ll definitely be back in December to see Europe's famous and most beautiful Christmas market!

I can’t recommend this hotel. They call it four star, but with the exterior wrapped in plastic we had no view, which was the whole reason for staying there. Nobody told us about that or offered a discount. The carpets were filthy, the elevator didn’t work, and only three of the ten lights in the ceiling fixture were working. The shower smelled like raw sewage, and the breakfast wasn’t acceptable.
