It’s a very basic camp, with showers and toilets, and the grounds could use better gardening and upkeep. Its main advantage is being right by the highway, which makes it handy for a night while passing through Croatia.

The highway-side location is the one thing this place has going for it. The stay was unpleasant and overpriced, with leaking windows, an elevator that didn’t work, and roof cladding that was peeling away. If you have another option, look at that first.

A lot of our money was gone when we came back from breakfast after leaving the room. The door had been closed, so we’re sure someone from the hostel was involved. It ruined our trip, and the police didn’t help us. I wouldn’t say this unless we were completely sure.

The room and bathroom were clean, but the price situation was unacceptable. At 6 in the morning I asked for a four-bed room for a few hours and was quoted 30 euros. When I came back at 9:30 to pay and collect my passport, the woman at reception said it was actually 60€. Sorry about the mistake, but that’s not okay. Two stars is enough.

This place feels like a flashback to the middle of the last century. The facilities, staff, and even the restaurant recipes all seem old. It’s better viewed as a reminder of how things looked 50-60 years ago than judged for missing modern amenities or weak Wi-Fi. Still, it’s striking that this forgotten place remains beside such a busy highway, right next to the country’s capital.
