The location is the only real plus. This place feels more like a motel, with cheap, thin materials, and it was loud and dirty. The bathroom was absolutely horrendous too, like someone had installed a portable shower.

The lobby bar gives the place a bit of character, and the room was well kept, with a comfortable bed and a great shower. It has the look and feel of a five star place, but costs a lot less. There’s no luxury, and the details are simple, but they’re done well and the hotel has some personality. It delivers what it promises: comfort, practicality and good value, without pretending to be more.

It was clean enough apart from the cobwebs, though with black spray-painted floors it was hard to tell. The location is central, but the tram and nearby bars made it noisy all night with the windows open. I wouldn’t stay here again. It’s a very basic place, and I don’t understand the okay reviews. This is not a hotel. There was no chair at the small desk, so we had to bend over on the lower bunk to get dressed, and keep our heads down to avoid hitting the top bunk. The room had bunk beds, poor toilet paper like you find in public toilets, and all-in-one soap. Breakfast was miserly. Even an hour before service ended, the food was old, and I saw what looked like mold on raspberry cake. The next morning, getting there early meant slightly better options, though still not great. It looked like staff ate what was left. Service was awful from the moment we arrived. Three of us came in with luggage, and nobody offered help or even smiled. One person was at the front desk, which we later found at the back of the hotel. The place felt more like a bar. I booked when I thought it was a hotel, and it seemed to have changed into a hostel without telling me. People were allowed to smoke, and they looked like hotel workers. The bars nearby also brought loud laughter into the early hours.

Car trouble kept me from getting to Zagreb, so I cancelled my booking at the last minute and never stayed there. They were kind about waiving the cancellation fee.
