The beach is great, but getting there is a serious challenge. The downhill road is very narrow, with only a few spots where cars coming the other way can pass. If you aren’t confident behind the wheel, don’t go. And don’t wait until dark to leave, since you’ll have to drive back up the same road. Seriously, don’t risk it if you’re not a very good driver.

The beach is lovely, with unbelievably clear water, and even at peak time the crowd is manageable. The waitress at the restaurant, though, was very unfriendly.

Families can relax while the children play around the bay or at the football playground. There’s a gentle breeze that cools things down during the hottest summer days, and the place is peaceful. Vela Stiniva is a beautiful little bay with two pebble beaches, flat stone areas for sunbathing, and high rocks for jumping into the sea. Tall cliffs around it are great for sport climbing. There are also many private rental apartments, a charming restaurant and pizzeria, and a small local coffee bar.

The fish pâté was tasty, and the fish soup was delicious, though it came out a little cold. A good meal overall!
