Villa Rudinka

If you’re after a lively nightlife, this quiet area probably won’t suit you. Shopping and similar errands mean about a 30-minute drive, and the house could use a few more household items. But it’s a very pleasant, modern, clean holiday home, with a good-sized pool and a lovely garden that’s especially nice for dogs. For a relaxing break, it’s just right.

Getting in means driving along a gravel track, so a low-slung car could get stuck. Once there, it’s a fantastic little villa, modernly furnished, with a refreshingly cool pool. Shops are about five minutes away by car, and arranging things with the owner was easy and relaxed.

This was our second time at the villa, and we were completely happy with everything again. You’re about a 30-minute drive from the sea at Porec, Pula, or Rovinj, and there are plenty of shopping options. A Plodine supermarket is currently being built in Zminj, just 5 km away. We found some excellent Terra Rossa olive oil near Pazin, as good as any we’ve tasted. In Porec, the restaurant aba is a great place to eat, but be sure to book a table.

One of the loveliest holiday homes we’ve ever booked. Absolutely fantastic.
