The bed felt like sleeping on feathers, and the food was delicious and organic. I had grilled snapper seasoned just like my grandma made it. Ben was especially helpful. When we needed laundry done, the staff returned everything right away and even pressed it. From check-in through dinner, everyone was wonderful, and the welcome started as soon as we walked in. If you want a place to feel the real Haiti, this is it. I’ll definitely be back.

Gabriel was especially helpful. He spoke excellent English, loved Cap-Haitien, and happily told us about the city and ways to explore it. The service was fantastic, and we felt at home throughout the hotel as well as in our beautiful room. I’d stay here again if I return.

We came for dinner with a group of about 20, not as hotel guests. They served the meal buffet-style for our group, and the food was surprisingly amazing. My favorite was the shrimp and rice dish. The waiters were great too, keeping the wine and beer coming.

Getting around can get expensive since the hotel is away from the busy strip, so be prepared to pay for taxis. The hillside setting gives you a breathtaking view of Cap Haitian, and the outdoor seating area is peaceful and lovely. The room is very basic, and the food was okay.

We stayed in the older section for a week, and it’s supposed to remain after the property reopens. The hotel is closed right now while they add rooms and join Marriott Autograph. Meals were fresh each day and tasted great, and being up on the mountainside kept us away from city noise. We’ll watch for news of the reopening.
