Colin's Hotel

The staff are very helpful, but the manager doesn't seem to care about running the place. Water leaks into some rooms. I reported it in November 2017, then came back in April 2018 and my colleague had the same problem in the same room. A leak shouldn't take more than a few hours to fix, yet nothing can be done without the manager's approval.

We couldn't have asked for a better stay at Colins Hotel. The staff made us feel so welcome, and they even arranged our airport rides and a trip to Bassin Bleu. They gave us directions and sent someone along to help us find our way. Our room was clean, the food was delicious, and the view was beautiful.

We had a really poor experience at Colins Hotel in Jacmel, Haiti, from start to finish. On February 20, 2017, at about 5 pm, I went there with friends for dinner. We ordered drinks, but my rum punch was much too sweet and had barely any rum. My friends tasted it and agreed. I asked the waiter to bring a shot of rum so I could add it, then waited about 20 minutes. When he returned, he said the bartender, Rosemay, had refused to send more rum and wouldn't add any to the drink. I sent it back and asked for water. The waiter brought a bottle without a glass, and the glass I requested was dripping wet. Our food took an hour and fifteen minutes. We ordered rice and beans, but got plain white rice. When we asked why, the waiter said they didn't have rice available and had made it for us so we wouldn't complain. I told him to choose his words carefully. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone because the customer service was poor throughout.

The restaurant is well equipped and reasonably priced, with a lovely upper deck looking out over the ocean. Colin's Hotel is a quaint, medium-upscale hotel and restaurant in Jacmel, Haiti. The rooms cost a bit much, but it's worth it if you want a seaside place to get away from Port au Prince.
