The main problem for me was how I was treated. At check-in, reception answered my questions curtly, and I felt like a nuisance instead of a guest. At breakfast, staff helped themselves at the buffet while guests were still waiting. That same dismissive attitude came through in other small interactions too. The hotel sells itself as grand and upscale, with strict expectations for guests, but much of it feels worn and neglected. Big signs saying “no luggage here” disrupt the atmosphere, and loud lounge music from old speakers plays constantly. The internet was unreliable, there were no drinking-water dispensers, and a Coke Light cost USD 6.30. I understand the difficult situation in Haiti, and I’m not criticizing the country. I’m judging the hotel by its own prices and the standard it claims to offer. If you charge premium rates and enforce a dress code, the service should match. The gap is too large, so I can’t recommend it for the price.

Humanitarian flights land here, though I haven't been inside the hotel. It's not very close to the interesting sites. I've heard the café and food are nice, but I can't say anything about the rooms. From outside, the building looks like it may need some maintenance.

It's a nice place, though laundry costs a lot. Reception could be more focused on customer care.

It's still one of the best hotels in PV, with a great convention center, though getting there can sometimes be complicated. The food used to be better, but eating there is always a good experience. One of the country's oldest hotel and restaurant management families runs it. Prices are high, as they are in Haiti because of the situation, so make sure your wallet or credit card is replenished.

In Juvenat, a little away from the bustle of Pétion-Ville, Karibe Hotel has a peaceful feel and a big courtyard full of trees and plants. There's plenty of parking, plus conference rooms, two restaurants, a spa, a pool, tennis courts, and a rooftop bar that often has lively nightlife. It's one of Haiti's premier hotels, with a comfortable, luxurious setting and plenty to do.
