There’s a great vegan selection, and the owner was fantastic with us. The food and hospitality were both great. We’ll definitely come back.

After a full day cycling, stopping here for lunch was a very good call. The menu had excellent dishes, and everything we tried was really tasty. They also have special gluten-free options. If you can, try the cheese tomato soup with a wood-cut steak.

The place really was clean, but the rest of the stay left us with a bad impression. The parking lot and grounds were pitch dark at night, and we could barely find our way to the accommodation. At 9:45 in the morning, they started mowing the grass right below our window, as if to hint that it was time for us to leave. Check-in only from 4 p.m. is unusually late too, especially at this price. The bigger issue was the air conditioning. It was listed in the description as a service, but using it cost extra. That charge wasn't mentioned when we booked by phone, and the accommodation's description should have made it clear. After reading the reviews, we weren't the first people caught out by this. For a stay of just 18 hours costing nearly 33,000 forints, you'd think a couple of hours of AC might be included. We asked kindly and normally for the remote, assuming we could use the AC as described. The host replied that he'd show us that we definitely couldn't. After a long search, the extra charge turned up on the computer listing, though there was no way to find that out over the phone. He then said we didn't have to stay and could leave, and asked why we thought he depended so much on those 3,000 forints. We didn't get to use the AC, of course. He'd already received plenty of money, so apparently we could leave for all he cared. His manner was disgusting. If we hadn't paid in advance, we would have left. I don't know how anyone in hospitality thinks this behavior is acceptable. Overall, someone this hostile, who can't be pleasant for even a minute, shouldn't be working in hospitality. I can't recommend the place to anyone.

The room was presented as having a private bathroom, but it was across a shared corridor. That wasn't disclosed in advance, and in these circumstances I wouldn't call it private. Air conditioning also appeared in the room amenities and photos, but we found out on arrival that it came with an extra charge. We pointed out that this wasn't in the room details, which made the listing misleading. The owner responded with personal remarks in an unacceptable tone. We were also asked for a 5,000 HUF deposit to get the key. The owner said it would be returned if we left the room by 10:00, another requirement we hadn't been told about beforehand and hadn't encountered before. The 16:00 check-in and 10:00 checkout were at least stated in advance; we were surprised that this left less time at the accommodation than usual. These details would have been acceptable if the website had explained them properly and we'd known before choosing the place. Instead, some weren't mentioned at all and others were misleading.
