Stellar Residence

The place was tidy, but difficult to find, and the staff weren’t much help.

The apartment was impossible for us to use, so we left a day early. The beds smelled, the walls were dirty, and some of the equipment seemed dangerously makeshift. Music from the Life1 fitness center below shook the walls and floor, sometimes for hours. The apartment sits directly above the loud section, and the noise could start at any time, with only short breaks. Although they’re usually open 6-22.00, the music often started an hour or two before opening and carried on after closing. Even Sunday afternoons weren’t quiet. The sound was said to reach 70-90 decibels in the apartment, while the music downstairs was played at around 120. I had to spend my own vacation time trying to find out where it was coming from. The children there, described as healthy, apparently couldn’t work out without the music. During my travels I tried different apartment options, and Stellar Residence was the worst. The owner’s attitude and behavior were unacceptable. They arranged things by saying they took no responsibility, since they had hidden the money and it belonged to them forever. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

The beds were uncomfortable, there was no hairdryer, and the window handles were missing, so the windows stayed open all the time. The apartment feels very dated. I can’t understand the positive reviews. The reception staff also seemed to have trouble remembering apartment numbers. They gave us keys, explained poorly which apartment was ours, and we wasted ages trying to find it. I strongly wouldn’t recommend it.

There’s no reception, so it’s best to book well ahead and arrange your check-in time. Otherwise, it’s a very good aparthotel, close to a little square and a big shopping center. The residence has two buildings, and one has slightly newer, larger apartments facing a pleasant small square. The tram and metro are about a 10-minute walk away, with just a few stops to the city center.
