This hotel ruined our Budapest holiday. I’d spoken with the hotel and owner days beforehand, but nobody mentioned these arrangements. There were four of us, two adults and two children, and we took a taxi there with five suitcases. After climbing the stairs, we were told our room was in another building. We had to walk some distance to an old, scary-looking building where the apartment was, though the apartment itself was fine. Breakfast meant another walk to a third building. We left straight away and booked somewhere else. Afterward, neither the hotel nor the owner answered our calls or emails.

Parliament is just around the corner, and it’s a short walk to Chain Bridge, Castle, and Vorosmarty Square. The staff were very friendly. I was told the restaurant was being renovated, so breakfast was served in a cafe across the road, which was very nice.

So frustrating. They asked me to update my credit card to keep my reservation from being cancelled. I did, but they kept trying to use the old card anyway, then cancelled the booking and caused me a lot of trouble.
