Villa Patzay Borhotel

A lovely little hotel with a great lake view. Some parts of the rooms, like the curtains and shower in ours, are a bit worn.

What a lovely place.

The view is very nice, the staff hospitable, the rooms clean, and the bed comfortable. I was less sure about the breakfast: it wasn't very varied or tasty during the first two days, then changed over the next two when someone else prepared it. I was also puzzled that hotel guests who eat there pay the same drink prices as people who just come in, and are charged a service fee as well. Wines ordered to drink there cost more than twice as much as the bottles available to take away, plus that fee, even though we were staying at the hotel. Management might want to think about this. Still, I was satisfied with the place overall. 5*

Our weekend was forgettable. Nobody was there for us at the agreed arrival time, and the food was unacceptable. The walls in the rooms were moldy, as was the bed mattress. An unpleasant experience for guests. If you're looking for a place to stay at Lake Balaton, don't come here. Your weekend may be better spent elsewhere.
