Anna Grand Hotel

We had a wonderful stay at Anna Grand Hotel in Hungary. The staff were warm, attentive, and caring, and the hotel was spotless throughout, from the rooms to the spa. The spa was quiet and relaxing, and the bar staff were especially kind. After the coffee machine had closed, I asked for tea, and the bartender offered to reopen it for me. When I went to pay, she smiled and said it was free because the machine had been closed. That little kindness really touched me. Service in the dining room was just as thoughtful. I asked for gluten free bread and got it right away, warm and fresh. When we asked for goat cheese, a staff member happily went to fetch it from the kitchen. This stay felt like a dream, an easy 10 out of 10, with just one small thing I hope the hotel can improve. We booked quite late, on December 31st, and told the hotel ahead of time that our drive was about 8 hours and we’d arrive late. We apologized for reaching the New Year’s Eve party at 11:15 PM. The party, food and drinks that evening, and breakfast and dinner on the following days were included in the price. The team waited for us, helped with our luggage, and gave us time to get ready. We made it to the event at 11:55 PM and found our seats, but of course the food had already been served. Later, while chatting outside with someone from management, the owner learned we’d just come off a long drive and were very hungry. He personally offered us the food we’d missed. We had paid for it, but they could have chosen not to offer anything since we were late. We went over to thank him at the long table, where we were all seated, and he made us feel genuinely welcome and respected. The whole team behaved impeccably. The one improvement is about the sauna aufguss sessions, which were extraordinary in themselves. I hope the sauna master can explain things well in English so foreign guests don’t feel left out. I’ve been to sessions before and know what should be explained and how they should be run. Guests should hear which infusions or aromas will be used, what they do, and especially what to do during and after the aufguss. We were told about just 2-3 infusions and that we could leave at any time. That didn’t seem enough for someone new to the experience. The sauna master explained everything in detail in Hungarian to the other guests, but told us foreigners very little. We felt a bit uncomfortable, though we decided to set that aside and enjoy it. I’m not sure we’d have felt the same if we hadn’t already known these sessions. I can hardly find words for the cleanliness, kindness, and food. We hope to return. It was a special stay, and this hotel will always mean a lot to us.

We had a fantastic 3-day stay at Anna Grand Hotel in autumn. The spa and pool were spacious and so relaxing, and our room was roomy and cozy. The hotel was immaculate, the food was delicious, and the location was great, close to the city center and lake Balaton. The staff were lovely and always ready to help. Highly recommend!

We had a comfortable, clean stay and are sure to come back. The beds were very comfortable, and there were saunas and sun loungers for relaxing outside. The surroundings were beautiful, and both breakfast and dinner were delicious.
