Alfa Art Hotel

The riverside setting is a nice feature of Alfa Art, with the Danube close by and a good place to walk. It takes around 30 to 40 minutes to reach the city centre (Bascilla). This is a budget hotel outside Buda city territory, and the narrow access road makes it difficult for tourist buses to get there. Rooms are very small, and the attached bathrooms are even smaller than average. Breakfast is about average for Europe. Staff behaviour was normal, though some might find them unfriendly, possibly because of the language barrier. Overall, an average hotel.

We chose this hotel as our wedding venue partly because there were plenty of parking spaces out front, which mattered to us. We could also take some wedding pictures by the Danube bank next to the hotel. The day went better than expected: everything was organised and in order, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the food was lovely. Our guests shared lots of positive feedback. I also spent a night here, and the room was clean and cosy. We left with happy memories. Thank you.

The venue is on a relatively calm stretch of the Danube shore, but the food and coffee have been very low quality. I’ve been here several times for different full-day meetings and have never had a nice meal.

The staff were helpful and mostly spoke English, though they were rather remote. Breakfast was bad. The two-bedroom place could be nice if the plumbing worked properly. When someone flushes the toilet or washes their hands while you’re showering, the water can get almost scalding.
