H2 Hotel Budapest

The location made getting around really easy. Bazilica is about three minutes away, there are pedestrian streets, restaurants and cafes all around, and buses, teams and the metro are nearby. Parliament is close too, as are Lidl and DM, just two or three minutes from reception. We came back to the H2 hotel for a second stay and were happy with the choice. Our room was big and warm, with a comfortable bed, and I loved the motion-activated floor lights. Parking was spacious even on a February weekend around Valentine's day, and taking the elevator straight between the parking and our room was very convenient. The reception team were kind and helpful, spoke English well, and some also knew other languages, like German. Breakfast had plenty to choose from, including vegan options, cereals and savory food, and the coffee was great. Pastry choices were limited to croissants and a cranberry twist, though both tasted good. The walls seemed a bit thin, since we occasionally heard doors closing. We tried to sleep in, but the cleaning ladies were moving beds, I think. It was fine, probably just a busy checkout day with lots of work.

The staff were friendly and very helpful, and check-in and requests went smoothly. Breakfast was decent, enough to get the day started. I had a comfortable stay in a clean room, with an especially good location in one of Pest's nicest neighborhoods. You're just steps from St. Stephen’s Basilica, and can walk to the Danube River, Chain Bridge, Hungarian Parliament and Jewish Quarter. Restaurants, cafes and coffee shops are all around, with a grocery store right across the street. That came in handy since the hotel's restaurant closes at 10 PM. The rooms are modern, stylish and spacious, with a minimalist industrial look. There are shelves, hangers and a bench instead of closed closets and drawers. If you bring a lot, the lack of enclosed storage can feel a little tight, though I could still keep my things organized. Cleaning can be requested because it isn't automatically done every day. Reception can provide a safe on request. The toiletries cover the basics, but shower caps or slippers would've been nice. There are no coffee or tea facilities in the room.

The breakfast was practical and good. When we asked for an early one, they packed exactly what we'd requested, which was very nice of them. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the place felt clean and modern. Great location too. Hooded Coffee place is a one-minute walk away, and the coffee there is good.

The room was comfortable and housekeeping kept it tidy each day. We didn't have a refrigerator, safe, or tea and coffee setup, though reception kindly lent us a kettle when we asked. Our supposed double bed was two singles pushed together, with separate duvets, which wasn't ideal. Breakfast had a nice variety and tasted good, and check-in was easy. The reception team were friendly and helpful the whole time. The hotel is right in the heart of Pest, a great location. We'd definitely come back.
