The tuna sandwich was decent, but the chicken one was small and felt like a basic supermarket sandwich. With two beers, I was fine until the bill came: €41 felt like a rip-off. The menu, logo, and tables all looked so polished that I later realized, while walking around Budapest, this is a chain. That only added to the feeling. I could imagine paying that at Piazza San Marco in Venice, but not in a city that feels pretty ordinary to me. We’d stopped at this corner terrace after a long walk, expecting something light. The menu photos looked amazing, almost too perfect. I’ve seen people call the place magnificent, but I came away with mixed feelings and found it quite normal.

The flavors didn’t really land for me, even though I’d heard lots of recommendations. Prices seemed fair, and the place has a pleasant, cool atmosphere where it’s nice to sit and relax. Café Anna is right in the center, and everything always looks great, but somehow I still feel like something’s missing.

The outdoor seating at Ana Café is such a relaxing spot, comfortable and nice for unwinding. We enjoyed everything we tried, especially the fresh, well-made coffee and desserts. Staff were friendly and polite, and service was generally quick. We did wait a while, and the seating policy wasn’t very clear, but the rest of the visit was lovely and worth it. I’d happily come back next time I’m in Budapest, and definitely recommend it.

The location is perfect, but that’s about the only good thing. For 7.8 k ft, the cheese platter was the cheapest sort I’ve ever had, like a 2 euro supermarket pack. The boiled eggs were really not fresh, and cucumbers?! That’s a tourist trap. They also served the Proseco in a red wine glass.
