B&B Hotel Budapest City

The staff were friendly and very helpful whenever we needed them, but there were several things that made the stay uncomfortable. Check-in took 40 minutes because the queue was so long and there was only one receptionist. The hotel is a long walk from the city center, with no Metro station nearby. The beds were comfy, though the pillows were too soft, and the blackout curtains didn’t block enough light. There was no kettle or cups for making tea, no wardrobe, and not enough towels, which were also very dry. The shower pressure was weak and there wasn’t enough hot water. The room was pleasant at night, but the doors closing were really disturbing.

The location is good, and having breakfast ready is handy when you want to start exploring without figuring out where to eat. It’s pretty basic, though, and nothing special. Our room was alright, if not the cleanest, but nothing too bad. There were plenty of towels, yet nowhere to hang them. The rooftop bar was open, but small, with expensive drinks, so I’d look at the many bars nearby instead. Parking was an issue too: the garage was very expensive, so we moved the car to one of the P+R parking lots.

Nora at B & B Hotel made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. She’s extremely kind, professional, and positive, with outstanding customer service skills despite being so young. She deserves a higher leadership role. Breakfast was organized to a very high standard, and the whole setup made things comfortable. All the employees do a great job, especially the cooks, and the breakfast area staff were always nice and friendly. We think the tall guy working there was named Mathew. He managed everything very professionally, and it was all perfect. I highly recommend B & B Hotel for a comfortable, memorable Budapest stay.

The hotel’s location is great, with everything close by, and I really liked the upstairs bar. Everything else was fine, though the breakfast area was very crowded. We booked through slevomat.cz, but something went wrong and the accommodation cancelled our stay at first. We then had to rebook one day less and change our train tickets. It was complicated, and I was quite sorry since we’d wanted more time in Budapest.
