Balance Home

Waking up to the Danube each morning from such a central spot felt like a real treat for the price. Balance Home is on the second floor of a beautiful old building whose exterior has been renovated. Inside, it's a bit rough around the edges, but that gives it plenty of charm and character. The room was clean, and the staff were friendly. It also came with nice extras: a kettle, decent hairdryer, mini fridge, a few tea bags, and large wine glasses. The bed and pillows were exquisite, super comfortable. I'd happily stay at this lovely hotel again when I'm back in Budapest.

Getting around was easy: the hotel is right by a tram stop, only a few minutes from a metro station, and surrounded by restaurants and shops on the main street. The room also worked perfectly for my solo trip. It was bright, roomy, and very cozy, with a romantic feel that would suit couples too. There were candle holders and 11 pillows, so I slept comfortably. The staff were exceptionally friendly and thoughtful, and made sure I was comfortable and enjoying my stay.

The room we had was clean, comfortable, and perfectly decent, and breakfast was brought to bed. Andri kept in touch with us and was great at communicating. The city-centre location has excellent tram and M1 connections. We missed out on a Riverside view room because they were all taken, but I highly recommend trying to get one. It's beautiful. Our stay at balance home in Budapest was amazing, and I'd definitely recommend it.

We eventually left the room at 9 in the evening and contacted Booking. They helped us find a Hostel. Before that, the power had gone out, and the hotel woman on the phone told us to switch it back on at the power box. The reception was barely staffed, so we had to sort things out by phone or SMS, which cost us extra. They also couldn't help with parking, and we spent a long time looking for a space. There were cleanliness problems too. We found hair in the bed, brown marks on the towels, and a shower with heavy limescale plus black and yellow stains. The water didn't drain properly and it smelled odd. When we called the hotel staff, they replaced only the sheets and didn't consider the other things dirty.
