Alex really made our stay. He was kind, knew Budapest inside out, and helped arrange tickets and discounts. He even sorted a larger bed for our tall travel companion, got us a bigger fan for the warm nights, and offered laundry for a small fee. Breakfast was great too. The location worked perfectly for us, right in the city center with public transport and everything else within walking distance. The hostel is on the second floor, with an elevator. Our room had a lockerbox, and the shared areas have video monitoring. There’s also free WiFi. The place has been renovated recently, so things feel new. The rooms are practical and comfortable, and the bathroom, kitchen, hall, and rooms were all very clean. The kitchen is fully equipped. Budapest Centrum Hostel was a great stay, and I’d come back.

Alex has plenty of useful advice about Budapest, so it’s worth hearing him out. The hostel is right in the center, with the impressive parliament building just around the corner, and it felt like good value for the money. The bedroom and bathroom were clean, WiFi was free, and the kitchen and living room had what we needed. There are also some fancy places nearby for breakfast.

The room was small, but fine for a night. There were lots of toilets and showers, so they never felt busy. The hostel is within walking distance of the Debrecen plaza and Forum mall or shopping center. The host was great, quick to respond and attentive to what guests needed.

The guy running the place suggested a bunch of nearby spots to visit. Getting tips from someone who’s lived here for years is a pretty good way to figure out where to go. Hotels may feel like home, but staying here gives you a Hungarian experience, which I think is a good thing.

The internet was great, and the place was clean, tidy, well located, and reasonably priced. The host works hard to keep it comfortable. There are house rules, including taking off your shoes inside, which I completely agree with. It’s one large apartment with a shared living room and kitchen, and guests can walk around in slippers. Visitors can’t bring outside guests in; I can see how the shared space could get messy if everyone brought friends along. I’d suggest booking a room with a private bathroom. We stayed in one, and I can’t say what the shared bathrooms are like. If you have questions, contact the host and ask. One friend stayed elsewhere, and I regret not asking Alex whether he could join us, perhaps in a room with an extra bed. I assume we would have had to pay more when we arrived, but it would have been better than him staying elsewhere. You can reach Alex on WhatsApp during your stay, and he does his best to help. I wouldn’t let the negative comments about the host put you off. Some people who don’t care about keeping things tidy may not like being asked to follow the rules.
