Budapest Csaszar Hotel

The outdoor pool is 50 metres and free to use, even in winter when the water is around 24°C. There’s also a sauna and breakfast included. For four people, our room cost 100 euros. I like keeping up with training when I travel, so I really enjoyed the nearby island, where locals run on a roughly 5 km loop. The Hungarian Parliament is about 2 km away and walkable. Breakfast was simple but tasty, and the basic room was clean and warm. There was a faint bleach smell at first, but it went away quickly. My only gripe was parking: the hotel has none, and street parking can be expensive. I loved staying here.

The team were especially warm, attentive, and friendly, and breakfast was delicious. Our room was clean, and the pool’s warm water made the trip enjoyable even in cold weather. The location is very convenient, with parking in front of the hotel. If you’re visiting Budapest, I think this is a great choice.

The staff were really kind, but breakfast didn’t offer much for me as a vegan at the time. I stayed three times because it was right by my dental clinic, which was the only reason I chose it. The rooms are VERY small, and you hear quite a bit of noise from the tram just outside. It’s not amazing. If you’re braver than I was, I’d suggest Hilton Budapest.

The staff are nice, but the place feels more like a dormitory than a hotel. There’s barely room for anything besides the bed, with no table, and you can hear other rooms clearly. Last night I could hear a man snoring. For rooms like these, I’d say 20-30 € a night at most.
